FF Miles on a Consolidator's Ticket?
My travel agent purchased a consolidator's ticket for me on NWA. I discovered this when I called NWA for seat assignments.
Does such a ticket qualify for FF miles? I hesitate to ask CO directly since I don't want a notation made in the file if the answer is no. Thanks for your help. |
I have purchased and flown with consolidator tickets on NW to Asia many times and they have always earned mileage.

If you don't want to ask the airline, ask the travel agent, as some consolidator fares qualify for FF miles and others don't. A few months ago, I helped someone purchase a consolidator ticket IAH-MAN-IAH on http://www.cheaptickets.com ($500 less than anywhere else) They were NW code-share KLM flights. He got advance seat assignments and status OnePass miles.

A good source for consolidator tickets to Asia is http://www.asiaairfare.com.

I experienced the same thing on America West last year too. Yet I don't know about other airlines' policy towards cheaptickets. |
That is exactly why you have to ask. Consolidators have different contractual arrangements with different airlines, so there is no set answer.
By the way, Cheaptickets also sells published fares which would clearly qualify for FF miles and status. |
