Seat maps on COOL...why are seats missing?
When checking seat availability on Continental's web page, it seems to be that there are always seats missing from the seat maps. What is the reason for this?

Welcome to Flyertalk. If you are not an Elite member, then the first few rows of coach (on a plane with a FC cabin) will not appear on your seat map --- these rows are reserved for Elite (Silver, Gold, Platinum). I believe the exit row seat does not appear either, although I could be mistaken. ------------------ "I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. Could you be more specific? What flight/destination/aircraft type are you discussing?
Jon Toner is correct. Additionally, if you are looking at BusinessFirst seatmaps on long-haul flights, one seat is blocked out (usually 1B I think) for crew rest. |
Some rows are blocked for airport assignment only too. Exit rows are like this as well.

Additionally, on some code share international flights- those seats assigned to the other airline may be blocked or missing.
