BF to FRA
Got an excellent fare to Frankfurt next week and managed to upgrade to BF. Can anyone tell me what lounge Continental uses in Frankfurt, and if it is worth allowing some extra time to enjoy the lounge?
Also will be connecting to British Airways in FRA, does anyone know if the gates for BA and CO are close? Thanks for your help! |
CO uses the Cathy Pacific lounge in FRA. This lounge has a First Class and Business Class section and BF passengers go to the Business Class section. Its a pretty nice lounge, as you would expect a CX lounge to be. Just don't expect First Class type snacks.

Also, if you have a Diners Club card, there's a lounge in terminal 1, landside at the gallery of the departure area, lounge B international.

Two additional questions:
If a coach/economy passenger who is a President's Club member is traveling, can he/she use the Cathay lounge, or is that access only for BF passengers? Also, which terminal does CO use in FRA? OK I lied, three questionss http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Where are the CX and Diner's lounges in relation to the CO gates? Thanks for your answers! |
I can only answer one of your questions. It has been my experience that passengers flying economy/coach can only use 'official' Presidents Clubs, not clubs of other affilations, such as Cathay. But they can try. In Dublin (while on a coach ticket) they let me use the non PC lounge, but explained that they were only doing it as a favor because it was a very quiet morning. But that was the exception, not the rule.

All US Airways First and Envoy (biz) Class customers are welcome into the First Class section of the Cathay Pacific Lounge in Frankfurt.

I used the CO BC lounge in FRA a couple of weeks ago. I mentioned my opinion on another string. It is right behind (?) the E ticket counters in Terminal 2, but a long walk around to get to it. Not to far from Gate E-6, if I recall correctly. It was the Cathey Pacific Business lounge TO THE RIGHT! as the lady instructed. Other then booze and some chips in the morning, there was little to call breakfast or healthy foods. It is rather silly for Co to even pay for this limited service. I don't know what was offered in the First Class section, but it had to be better.
If you need any repairs for your eyeglasses the Optic store there is terrific and efficient! Highly recommended. |
