I'm sure Gordon is on the BOD of many companies. This is just one more.

It certainly does not preclude him from re-emerging in the industry. I still beleive he will be the next CEO of DL, or some combination of DL/CO/NW.
Just my hunch.

He did an incredible job at Continental and wish he was still there.

You're right...I read too quickly and just assumed it was an executive position.

He can't work within the airlines industry for a set amount of year... and no I'm not assuming .. IT's in WRITING and Gordon ADMITTED IT. Yes he has a Non-Compete Agreement with Continental... Do you really think Continental as a company would allow such a brilliant man to walk off to another company... Not to mention the fact he was offered a job at United not that long ago, which he turned down because of his dedication to Continental.

He like many other well respected executive (after they leave thier primary job) go on to serve as Board of Directors on other companies... To offer guidance and help ensure that that companies shareholder's interests are being looked out for...

Can we get off this what airline is Gordon going to sign up with kick now?
Thanks...

Sorry, No!

My speculation is that DL will know within 90 days whether their new fare structere will stave off Ch. 11. I don't believe it will, and if DL goes Ch. 11 and can discharge a significant amount of debt, by the time they are ready to emerge, it will be after Gordo's 1 -year non-compete, and he will be brought in to oversee DL's emergence from Ch. 11 and give a good hard look at combining with CO.

He has said on numerous occasions that airline consolidation is inevitable - I beleive it is because he knows where DL and CO are going. You get labor costs down, reduce debt and a CO/DL combination makes a lot of sense.
