Thanks in advance. |
BizJet,
Here are your answers: Yes Yes Y Only. Comes from A (It may also deduct from F, That I don't know) Hard to say. Saturday flights are usually easier to upgrade. But, as always, yield management is a very hard science to decifer. [This message has been edited by CameraGuy (edited 09-28-2000).] |
Thanks CameraGuy.
Final Question: What is "D"? |
D is also a first class seat. It is sometimes used when the passenger is connecting from an international flight in first class, they are booked in D all the way through.
|
Good Question.
As near as I can tell, it is the bucket for a domestic segment of an upgraded international itinerary. |
Don't have time to look up the rule...however be careful I believe only Plat and Gold can upgrade Y fares AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. I think the time period for silver is quite a bit shorter and not at all for non elites.
|
cigarman is correct.
It has been a very long time since I have been Silver (Back then it was Bronze). Silver elites can upgrade Y fares at 72hrs (I THINK). Non-Eiltes cannot upgrade Y fares unless they are YONEPASS. A YONEPASS ticket can be upgraded by anyone at time of ticketing. |
Cameraguy:
It's a little tighter for Silvers. Upgrade benefits differ depending on the type of fare you have purchased. Full Coach Fares -- When traveling on a full Y or Northwest -26/-27 fare, you can confirm your upgrade after midnight two days prior to departure on flights operated by Continental Airlines, Northwest Airlines and America West Airlines. Discount Fares -- When traveling on a fare other than full Y or Northwest -26/-27, you can upgrade after midnight the day of departure on flights operated by Continental Airlines and Northwest Airlines. On flights operated by America West Airlines and Copa Airlines, based on available seating, you can upgrade at check-in within two hours of your flight departure. ------------------ "I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. If there are elections out there that are more little league (minor league, bush league, whatever) than the ones we all face, I'd be afraid. Very afraid...

Actually, my opening joke (which I only get to use every 4 years) is, "Tonight is the important Presidential election." ------------------ "I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own." |
Election update.
One putz in. Two putzes defeated. And for the first time that I can ever recall, I was re-elected with more than 60% of the vote. Actually 96%. Ditto for Terri (wife). ------------------ "I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own." |
