What does ST2 mean?

When flying the other day from IAH-SEA, I noticed that instead of PLAT being next to my name on the manifest, it was ST2. I ran up the list and saw only 1 other passenger with the same mark. Just curious what this means, does it have something to do with the NW status?

That would be Sky Team Elite Plus

As you know Silver & Gold qualify for Sky Team elite status (ST1). Us Plats are the elite plus members (ST2). As far as the meaning it allows you into any SkyTeam partner lounge on the day of international travel  ^

Do you know how and whether Northwest's and Continental elites are differentiated from the non-upgradeable Delta Elites?
