Do HP flights count towards One Pass Elite?
 

Does anyone know if America West Flights count towards One Pass Elite (Status miles?)

I am about to buy an hp ewr-phx-yvr roundtrip and use miles to upgrade it to First class. I need the one pass status miles as this will make me elite for the year.

(The reason I am doing this is that I have an addional 45K in flight fund - and will get a companions ticket with that). This if for summer travel and don't want to play the wait and see game with CO to see if they will release the seats.

Can someone confirm that they count for status as well as miles earned?

Anyone have any better ideas for ewr-yvr in first class using 45k in flight fund miles and 1 continental coach +20k upgrade?

I have 46k miles in flight fund - am using them to have get a ticket in First Class for my girlfriend...

I am going to buy a ticket for myself from continental and then use 20k one pass miles to upgrade that one. The One pass folks set up a record locator for me to buy it - and set aside the first class seats - just wanted to make sure that I would get the status miles I needed.

The one good thing - if you go ewr-phy=yvr you pick up a few extra miles from the nonstop.

I am going to try to pay for part of the ticket with a travel certificate they gave me last week at RSW for taking a bump - but that may be pushing my luck (using co script to buy HP ticket from CO - and then getting CO to upgrade it)...
