At this time there has not been any word from Continental about the year 2000 OnePass Elite benefits. The restructuring of the 1999 elite program was annouced in November of 1998. It would be unusual for there not to be at least some minor changes in the program for the new year.

The OnePass Member's Guide advisory states:

"1999 OnePass Elite benefits are valid from March 1, 1999 through February 29, 2000 and are subject to change from year to year. Continental may change any aspect of the Elite program at the end of each year's program, with or without notice to active members, regardless of miles flown in the previous year."

As well as the contradictory:

"Continental Airlines and all OnePass partners may change specific features of the OnePass program, including any Elite benefits, apon 60 days' notice to active members."

In 1994 the start of the Elite program was delayed until May 15th, that program included elimination of standby upgrades except for Y and H fares. Standby upgrades for Gold elites were restored in 1995 after Gordon Bethune took control of Continental.

The lack of any word about the 2000 elite program at this time makes one wonder about what is going on in the minds at the marketing department.

I have to agree. I'm not a heavy flier like most of you and was just able to break 20k to hit bronze in 98 and silver in 99. They bumped the level to 25k and sent me packing. In addition, what was the head of the pack web site hasn't done much new in 99. One major missing function is detailed details of current activity. DL, AA, US, even SW has it. CO is behind the times in 99.
