down under continental

When CO pulled out of the Sth Pacific I was left with some 200,000 CO miles. I recently wanted to use them to fly from US to NZ but it turned out to be such a hassle I gave up (weird routing on CO and then only to Cairns via everywhere first. Difficult to get onto Quantas and a hassle. Once you get your tickets and commence travel I was told the return date is totally locked in . No changes. Very weird!!) I then decided to use them go between New Zealand and Australia.(on Quantas I guess) CO informed me I couldnt do this. To do this I had to first fly to NZ from the US on a one pass reward which I dont want to do

Was any provision made for the former "down under" CO loyal passengers to use their mileage in their own region?? There was a lot of us with a lot of miles.

How do I get to NZ/Aussie using my onepass miles? Want to go to Auckland and Perth and be able to change the return dates if I need to. Can anyone help??

...I know what you mean. CO Micronesia does nothing to address the "South" Pacific. I tried to get to Fiji and was even willing to get creative, but ultimately had to engage QF (from HNL-NAN & NAN-LAX).

One resolution would be to convert miles from OnePass to Hilton then convert back to another carrier. It would cost you conversion "overhead", but might be better that going stale, unused.
