Rewards Refund/Deposit

I've found a standard reward for HNL BF and am thinking about useing miles to reserve the ticket. I was curious if anyone knows the rules about having the miles re-deposited in my account should I need to cancel. I'm perfectly fine with paying a $35 fee, but dropping 150K miles on 2 seats to HNL with the chance of not being able to make the flight worries me. Is there a time frame for refunding the miles back to my account and cancelling the tix? Thanks in advance for any help!

If you think you might make a similar trip in the future, you can cxl the award and rebook within 12 months without a fee. If you decide to redeposit the miles there will be a fee unless you are Plat.

Fee is $50 for non-elites and $35 for Silver/Gold. Plat don't pay. Take a look at http://www.continental.com/onepass/r.../ticketing.asp It has a breakdown of all the fees.

If your a non-elite it is a $50 refund for the WHOLE record. If there are 2 people or 10 people on that record, it's $50 to redeposit the miles into your account. That's a pretty darn good deal if you ask me, I'm surprised CO doesn't stick it to ya more.

I just did the same thing, booked myself a Jan HNL reward trip, I'm 90% sure I'll be able to go but if not, $50 is worth the gamble to me ^

Thanks. Is there a deadline when you can cancel? Can I cancel a day before the flight and have the miles re-deposited? CO site does not say, but it doesn't say either, if you know what I mean. I tried to make sense of the fare rules section, but I didn't have my secret decoder ring.

A day before is fine. There's no hurry in re-depositing unless you have another use for the miles.

Recently booked an award ticket on onepass.com and this is from the 'fine print':

> Your eTicket is non-transferable and valid 1 year from date of mileage withdrawal unless otherwise provided in the Conditions of Contract
> Reward travel is subject to the terms and conditions of the OnePass program
> Redeposit or change reward for US$35.00 (Gold and Silver Elite) or US$50.00 (Non-Elite) per transaction by calling 1-800-344-1411

Beware... the website has been showing some of these seats to HNL as available, but they do not actually exist. If you try to book it on-line, you may get an error message and something saying that they could not process your request. Hopefully this is NOT the case with your planned itinerary and you will not run in to this problem. Good luck!
