Does IAH-LIM get free upgrades?
 
how about flying to GIG (Rio)? It goes through Sao Paolo.
I've never flown to South America before.

Use the search command. There's been a discussion specifically about the Lima flights within the last 6 months (very specific and lengthy discussion, you definitely want to find this thread) and there are literally 50 topics discussing South Aemrica elite upgrades.

to answer your question without having to do a search. yes. elites get free upgrades as in the US. or you can use miles and pay no upgrade fee. the cool part is the flight is usually operated with a BF configured 757. regular service, but a BF seat.

IAH-Sao Paolo and Rio are 'true' BusinessFirst routes, thus no EUA.
