routing rules?

Booking EWR-MIA but want to fly via DEN for the extra EQMs. Do routing rules apply for SDC? If so, where can I find them when I book? Would booking flights via IAH help?

Looking at published EWR-MIA fares on Expert Flyer... I found the following seemed to be the routing rules for most non-stop fares:

1. EWR-CLE/CLT/EWR/PHL/WAS-FLL/FMY/JAX/MIA/ORL/PBI/PNS/TPA-
MIA
2. EWR-CLE/CLT/EWR/PHL/WAS-MIA
3. EWR-FLL/FMY/JAX/MIA/ORL/PBI/PNS/TPA-MIA
4. EWR-MIA

Your best bet would be to book a multi-city EWR-DEN-MIA, should you wish to route that direction.

Looking at these it doesn't seem like adding a stop in IAH isn't an option either, right (for a SDC if booked on a direct flight)? Looks like CLE would be my only option and only on certain fares.
