The worst CO meal I have ever had

Yesterday I took the evening flight from BZE-IAH. Mrs_dergon and I were in the International First.

The only meal available in F was what was called a "cold plate". (and it wasn't like there was a hot option that we were too far back to get. This was all that was offerred)

It consisted of one plastic syrupy cup of fruit cocktail, cheese and crackers from the president's corn (parmasean peppercorn Rondelle) and the Pièce de résistance........

three sticks of Jack Link's beef jerky on a plate. Just as pictured here in their platic wraps and everything.

The FA was obviously aghast and profusely apologetic, but ...?

Beef jerky as an entree?!

Do not, I repeat, do not feed the jerky to a dog.

Was it actually international first? They use 738s and treat it as domestic first, as far as I know.

It was set up like domestic first like most of those carib. flights but marketed as their "International Business"

Flight: CO1628
Aircraft: Boeing 737-800
Fare Class: International Business (R)
Meal: Dinner

TWA Fan 1 Feb 19, 2012 10:35 am

That type of flight is branded International Business.

I would have to assume there was a problem somewhere down the supply chain with catering.

That is truly embarrassing. I hope that is just an anomaly and not another $misek measure. :td:

Even Sasquatch woldnt eat that garbage

dergon darkhelm Feb 19, 2012 11:01 am

Whoo hoo! Just got the survey email for this flight.

Multi-page rant, here I come! ;)

I would hope that if such were the case the FA would have said something like "I'm very sorry but there was an issue with catering in Houston."

The fact that it has gotten so bad that it we can consider it a realistic possibility that SMI/J is willing to serve beef jerky as a first class dinner meal just saddens me.

Maybe the jerky goes down better with a cup of FreshBrew.
