Feel bad for CO, upgraded, now J1

Feel bad for CO (not really). My SWU upgrade cleared some weeks ago for coming sunday PVG EWR flight. Now C looks very full with only J1. Y is wide open. Hope then don't miss any C sales because of me.
Actually, I hope they don't learn from this and becomes (even) more resistant to upgrade in advance.

Actually, sometimes the strategy is to clear Z, D and C inventories early and capture as many J fares as possible. You may have actually increased the yield.

If they only wanted to sell J seats then they could just zero out the lower inventories. There is no rule that says they have to sell them.

10 of the 49 booked in BF are upgrades, so IM probably knows that nobody is booking late and released lots of seats into R.

How do you know that? This is for sunday 19th, I don't see sunday in the upgrade list online yet.

Congrats.

Remember to eat a drink a lot on the flight.

One simple way to check the upgrade list for a flight in the distant future is to hand-craft a URL to mobile.united.com, e.g. https://mobile.united.com/FlightStat...lightNumber=86

That's a great trick! But I didn't quite manage to use it on other flights. Is it just to change month and date and the 3 flightnumbers?

And I see that there is 7 seats available now, so I guess I don't have to feel sorry for CO anymore . There was only J1 earlier today, but that might have been a glitch or just short temporary.

Mobile and IM via co.com seem to take about 6 hours to sync. No idea which is more accurate. Just what I noticed from my constant checking while praying for an upgrade to clear.

They can always sell another J ticket and downgrade you; pay you 400$ compensation and call it a day.
Rumor is it would not be the first time they do this.

And yet, you posted this in their forums, where it is much more likely to be seen.
