How Long for Miles to be Refunded?
I booked a one way F for 25k. In the meantime a suitable alternative in Y opened up. CO changed the reservation and I am expecting 12.5k miles credited back to the account. About how long do I wait before worrying that something has gone wrong? I made the adjustment last Thursday.

I've been told in the past that it can take up to a week. Never had to wait that long, though.

did you sign out and then sign back in to your account?
If that doesn't do the trick, then call OPSC and they should fix it immediately. |

The agent I talked to last Thursday mentioned that OnePass service center is currently extremely slow for crediting miles back to OP account. It might take 7-10 business days for them to process the request.

Yet another reason CO system is the best system. On PMUA MP it is automatic and instant.
I tried to do it and it said I had to call reservations. Maybe I am misunderstanding your post. thanks. |

Been waiting 12 days now for my 175K miles back into my account on two cancelled award tickets.

While I'm a "UA boy" this is only partially true. It is automatic only if the ticket is "clean", i.e. There were no changes made to it since booking. IME, every time I had a change it had to be sent to customer relations for "investigation". I was always able to get it sorted out while still on the phone by being transferred to the CR desk but it had to be done manually. |

Is this really an issue? If you need to use those miles for a new booking they will credit them immediately over the phone. I've done this on multiple occasions without even a slight issue.

I was told since the connection >4 hours, the computer priced the new itinerary as 12.5k + 12.5k miles. If I had waited, the miles would never have redeposited. The agent said since there were no flights within the 4 hour window, they would credit half the miles back. This is problematic for two reasons. 1 - If I had an option for a connection within the 4 hour window and didn't take it, I would be charged 25k miles, and 2 - No previous agent caught this error. Also interesting, while this was cleared up, OPSC said I still have to wait 12-24 hours for the miles to show in my account. Let the next wait begin. Boy am I glad I didn't need the miles right away! It's a bit sad that PMCO folks are trained to call in, and apparently "on multiple occasions" when this function was automatic and instant with Apollo. |
