AVOD Not Working
 
Anyone else ever have an issue with AVOD not working on their flight? Did you request anything from CO after the completion of the flight?

I was on CO23 yesterday from DUB to EWR (about 8 hours flying time) and the system did not work for the duration of the flight (reset was performed twice, system would just freeze after a minute of loading up).

Even worse, someone had already completed the Sudoku in my copy of Hemispheres!

I would write it in, just don't expect much. CO's service recovery is pretty poor.

Next time - see if they have skykits.

This is a good thing from UA (and hopefully, CO has adopted it as well).

What else can you expect? On my last TATL flight, fortunately I chose UA rather than CO (so I can get skykits for my IFE issue).

MIne did not work about a month ago (FRA-EWR). Wrote to CO.

What is the servicing aircraft? 757 or 777?

I flew on a CO 777 right before Thanksgiving IAH to LHR and they couldn't get the AVOD to work until we were literally half way over the Atlantic. To the flight crew's credit, they did not stop trying to make it work.

If you really flew a CO 757 from IAH to LHR, the bigger concern would be keeping the engines running when the fuel was exhausted.

AVOD did not work in Business First throughout the flight--worked in Economy. The Purser or Service Director said she was not going to report it for us to get compensation and that I should go to either the UA-or CO website (she was not sure). She too tried to work on it inflight but it was not reported on the ground. No Skykits or anything similar were available. If I write to 1K Voice do you think they would respond? Happy Holidays

Yes, I recently had an issue on a PMCO flight and I emailed 1K Voice. Heard back a few days later with compensation.

Non functioning AVOD on CO in 2008 MXP-EWR in BF

(Also had a 4hr MX awaiting on the same flight.. so not exactly a clean data point)

The AVOD was also broken on this 15-16 hour flight (772). I was in BF but I imagine it did not function for all passengers. Since I'm abroad, I will call CO when I return re: compensation.

Thank you!! By the time I saw your message - I had already gone to the airport for my return flight home.

The UA rep at the check-in desk presented me with a travel credit (without any prompting from me), in recognition that the AV systems were busted on the ride over.
