End-of-year EQM: 99901. What to do???
Hello, would really appreciate some help as I will end the year with a flight from Dec 20-28 with 99901 EQMs. Just 99 left to go! How do I get to 1K status? I'd be very upset that I lost it just because of 99 measly miles... Any help is appreciated!!

Did it myself on Monday to make sure I wasn't short on Dec 31... |
Book a ticket on CO.com for a short hop of at least 99 miles. Buy the elite maximizer option to get the extra EQMs. Then cancel the ticket and keep the EQMs. |
Can't since I'm based in Bangkok for rest of the year... And my last trip is via LH from BKK-HEL.

You don't have to actually *fly* the flight.
Just *book* it.... can be from anywhere to anywhere else at any time ...even in 2012. You book it as fully refundable for a short hop. Then, using continental.com you use the "elite maximizer "for the flight. This will cost around $0.11/mile to use. This gets you the extra EQM you need. ( make sure to click the option to get EQMS! - not jsut extra RDMs) Once done, these new extra EQMs are creditied your account for THIS calandar year. Voila! You're over 100k Once you see those maximizer miles appear in your EQM tally, go back and cancel that flight that you book as a fully refundable fare. |
Wow I didn't realize this is possible! Sorry that I miss the cancelling part... That's...quite mind-blowing :o Thank you!
What is the shortest hop that would accrue 91 miles? |

What is the shortest hop that would accrue 91 miles? You'll have to spend $65, though. strategy9 FYI only folks upgrading from no status to Premier will get to buy actual miles if the flight is less than 500 miles. |
Edit -
I thought the maximizer was based on actual flight miles regardless of whether you have elite status or no. .... the 500 minimum is only done *after* the flight for calculating EQM, no? |
CLE-ERI is 100 miles one-way

Doesn't matter in your case, as you're an Elite. Book anything under 500 miles -you'll get 500 EQMs.

Is B class fully refundable? |
IAH- AUS overshoots it by a little. It's showing 143 miles one way for me

Why $65? You mean that's the cost of the EQM miles?
Thanks! Will try this. Is B class fully refundable? Doesn't matter class - just cancel within 24 hours. Any fare class is fine if you do that. People recommend fully refundable just to be safe, or if you're new here, but doesn't need to be. |
Is there any way to convert CO EQM miles to UA EQM miles at this point? I only need 49 miles!

You can link accounts now or wait for the automatic linkage at the end of the year |

it will be automatic -- 2012 status will be based on the combined EQMs of your UA & CO accounts.
