HAve you read any of the threads comparing Plat to 1K for next year?

I was looking at a MR, and have decided to skip it - the benefit doesn't seem to be there for me.

Really? Plat colleagues really only lost a 25% bonus on miles.

LH W Fares only 50% Elite Qual Credit?

You are all awesome, thanks so much for the ideas and itin examples...

Question 1:
I'm looking at a couple of these zombie "same-day" turns... but the CPT-FRA leg is on LH metal and a W fare... isn't that only 50% eqm? Making the total EQMs for the trip 16,493?

Question 2:
I am looking hard at the differences between Plat and 1k... let's assume next year I'll fly 125,000 *A miles. So as plat I'd receive ~94,000 bonus miles and as 1k I'd receive 125,000 bonus miles for a total difference of 31,000 RDM. Other 1k benefits over Plat are:
  • Improved domestic upgrade %
  • 2 extra RPU certs
  • 6 GPU certs
Am I missing anything?

Thanks again!

W fares earn 100%/100% on United, so just credit to your Mileage Plus account. I don't know if you can credit individual segments to different accounts, but I don't see why not. An expert like SMB12 will need to throw in his 2 cents.

Yes, I think those are the benefits you get. You would only get the extra 25% on the first 100k, not after that, so that's 6,250 less. You do get the miles for this years flight 40k.
