dps

Thinking of flying to dps as part of 50th wedding anniv present to wife and myself.
Suggestions on best route max mileage and if miles can be used for upgrade would be appreciated.
I am gold on Co.

UA/CO to BKK or SIN, then TG or SQ for a couple hours down to DPS. UACO upgrade is 30k miles + ~$500 per person per direction.

Another alternative would be an award ticket on TG, NH, OZ, etc. Minimal cash expenditure (taxes) and not many more miles than the UG (~110k RT vs 60k RT) for better availability and better service.

Listen...this is a long trip...no need to max out the mileage IMO. If it was me, I would fly either TG LAX-BKK-DPS-BKK-LAX with CO or UA getting you to LAX, or I would fly SQ XXX-SIN-DPS-SIN-XXX from your nearest SQ gateway.

I flew Y cabin from LAX to BKK in January, and it was very pleasant. I have had J flights that were less pleasant with US carriers. Alternatively, you can book Premium economy from LAX-BKK which is another step up.
