Copa and KLM code share
Dear all,
I would be grateful to have some help from some you frequent flyers in this case. Some years ago when Continental was still a member of the Skyteam I travelled with KLM from Amsterdam to Panama City and then on to San Salvador, El Salvador. As far as I can see Copa still have a code share agreement with KLM. The question is if I will earn OnePass miles travelling on the segment operated by KLM if I buy the whole itinerary through Copa. After all it is almost 5000 miles so I do want to miss them. Thank you for taking your time |
I do not believe you will. Earning in OnePass is based off the operating carrier, not the codeshare.

I'd go a little stronger with the wording and say "No". Operating carrier matters here and KL does not partner with CO anymore, thus no miles on any KL-operated flight regardless of how it's coded.

I'd call OnePass on this one, remember OnePass is not only CO's FF program, but also the FF program of CM.
In most cases, if you fly a carrier's own codeshare flight, it will credit to that carrier's own FF program, regardless of whose metal its on. Now, having said that, this codeshare on KL metal may be just a forgotten leftover of the Skyteam days because while the code and routing exist, I can't find a valid CM fare to buy it with. |
