First Class Flights Refundable

Are first class flights refundable? Also is there a way to cancel online? I can't get through on the phone.

Some are, some aren't (assuming you mean refundable without penalty). It depends on the details of the fare.

Should be. When reviewing your reservation online the option should be listed.

On my confirmation email it lists this:
Fare Rules: Additional charges may apply for changes in addition to any fare rules listed.

/-REFUNDABLE

Can I assume that this means refundable? I don't see anywhere online to cancel, only to change reservation.

Are you on the continental.com website?

Click on the "more >" link next to your reservation and one of the option on the new page will be to cancel.

Hope that helps.

Thanks so much. I just found option to cancel after clicking on more, and it is fully refundable. I wasted 2 hours on hold with Continental and couldn't get through.

Glad I could help! :)

The mess because of the hurricane has led to extended wait times on the phone.

Always good to check and not assume. I bought a F ticket on UA, thought I had even clicked on the refundable button and turns out it was a buy up fare that was NOT refundable. Fortunately I was within 24hrs so no harm.

Do you know the time window to cancel for refundable flight? Is it up to right before flight leaves or sooner?

On UA I've canceled a few minutes before the door closes, CO right after it closes. Either way before the flight takes off.

Most fully refundable tickets can be refunded at any point until 1 year from the date of issuance. The original travel date is not particularly relevant.

In December 2010, I cancelled a fully-refundable FC fare about five days after the original travel date, because that was the first time I could get through to CO's 800 number.
