Frequent Flyer Usage.

Ok here goes. I booked using CO miles transferred from United and AMEX membership rewards. I have no CO status. I needed two tickets from BOS to BCN for a cruise. I first made reservations in coach and have made numerous changes all free up to the 21 day mark which has been great. I think I have maximized my return on miles and gotten two free trips as well. Right now I have used 200000 miles for two round trips in Business Class both ways. These are the Flights and aircraft and want the collective wisdom of the boards thoughts. I fly as follows. BOS to London on Virgin Atlantic A340-600 in Upper Class. Looks like a great option with true lie flats. I then fly Heathrow to FRA to BCN on Lufthansa Business on an A 321. The return is all Lufthansa in Business. First from BCN to FRA on an A321 and then FRA to BOS on an A 340 in Business. Looks like a very good but not great product but hey it's free and fit my schedule as well as the limited availability. So was this a good use if miles. Typing at 35000 on my phone so excuse the typos if they exist thanks

Others can correct me if I am wrong, but the standard LH (and other EU carriers) F for short haul Europe is a 3-3 that is really XOX-XOX....so you have some extra room but it is generally a Y seat with the middle blocked.

It's true, standard Y seat with a table in the middle that folds out of the middle seat. Don't know if there is any more legroom than Y.

Thanks

I noticed that on LH intra EU flights. The flights that most interested me were the Upper Class on VirginAtlantic. Looks like great lie flats with PJ's and sheets as well as an amazing bar at the back of the cabin, as well as the Long Haul LH A340 for 8 hours in not quite lie flats. The short flights clearly are not great but still better than Y.
