upgrading one pass plus

I searched but didn't come up with anything on this topic

I have the one pass plus card now, and got an offer in the mail to apply for the presidential plus card with the 1st year fee waived.

I called one pass plus and they said they can upgrade me but can't waive the fee. I am worried if I apply online I will get rejected since I already have a card.

Has anyone else been in a similar circumstance? What do you suggest? The agent I spoke with told me to close out my one pass plus account and apply (yeah right)

Thanks

Chase and Bank of America have both had no problems with issuing me lots of cards in the past.

At one point, I had two different BoA US Airways DM Visa Signature cards. I got an offer to sign up, and figured why not? The promotional interest on them was different, but were otherwise identical.

I'd ask yourself if the cost of an inquiry on your credit report is worth the possibility of saving the annual fee. At $395, I'd need to feel like I was foregoing applying for another card that would award me at least 40,000 miles to not risk applying.

I guess I will just go ahead and apply for it unless anyone thinks that is a bad idea?

Just apply if you really want the PC access.

I wish I could just upgrade mine too and get the waived fee as opposed to a new application. I am not sure I will bite on this as most sign-up bonuses I have been getting I value at more than $395......I guess we'll see. I'd be all over an upgrade of my One Pass Plus card with my waived fee Pres Plus offer if it didn't include a credit pull. :)
