How can I tell whether op-ups happened?
Just idly curious whether I missed an op-up run. A BF flight was (according to pda.continental.com)
F: 8/16
Y: "Full"
I was upgraded, leaving it at
F: 9/16
Y: "Full"
Then a friend was upgraded, and now it's
F: 14/16
Y: "Seats Available"
This happened pretty suddenly, since we've been looking at the flight every hour or so.
But when I look under "upgrade standby info", I only see two people upgraded, me and my friend. Did a party of four buy F revenue tickets? Would op-ups appear as "passengers upgraded"?

Travelers won't be listed on the upgrade list until they choose seats (which are not automatically assigned).

If you are feeling a bit social and tactful, why not ask around while on your flight? Anybody who got an op-up is sure to be in a good mood and would likely being willing to talk about it (I know I am very excited whenever I get one).

Not sure I'll have the guts to ask around. I don't mind having "overpaid" for an upgrade -- just always happy to have a chance to try out the product.
