Electronic Travel Certificate (ETC) - using on Co.com

Hi all -

I'm trying to book a flight for Mrs_dergon on co.com using an ETC for a portion of the payment. ($250 from when they lost her bags to MUC)

However, I am apparantly not smart enough to figure out how to use.

In the advanced search area I was able to find:

If you are redeeming a gift certificate or electronic travel certificate, they can be redeemed at the Payment Information page during the flight booking process.
but when I get to that page, no such option exists. I see onl a) Credit/debit Card, b) paypal, c) cash

a bit of help welcomed.

It's right above the payment stuff...there should be a Redemption options. It may not show up if you have a non-qualifying itin (e.g., codeshare).

While many say the CO site is the "best," I, too, miss obvious things sometimes because it's so cluttered. I had trouble finding where they buried the confirmation number on a reward booking the other day that I had to use my browser's Find feature to find it hidden in the middle of the page, past a bunch of ads for stuff I don't want. You would think that the confirmation number is one of the most important items to display after clicking purchase.

Ah-hah! At least you got my eyes to read the fine print......

My milage upgrade request was borking the option for using a cert.

Note: Due to the milage redemption required for an upgrade, only a credit/debit may be used to purchase this reservation with an uprade.
I don't know why that is true....seems like a nonsensical restriction to me.... Why would using miles as an upgrade (in addition to paying the $$ fare) make using a ETC invalid? ........ but there it is.

I guess I'll just put through the ticket then call for the milage u/g
