Miles on UA codeshare

I just completed a trip from Austin to Mumbai. Austin - Houston - LHR was all CO operated. LHR - Mumbai was Jet operated.

The ticket was issued by UA. All legs had a UA flight number.

Continental credited my flights as far as LHR, but are refusing to credit the LHR-BOM segment since it was Jet operated.

I thought that having a codeshare meant that the operator is immaterial? I have scoured CO website for exceptions but could not find any that are applicable. On the Jet and UA websites they state that reciprocal mileage earning does exist.

So....why the issue?

CO is right in this case. The metal is all that matters in *A, codeshare or not. A partner of a partner is not your partner.

Best bet is to credit the leg to UA and then just transfer the miles to your OP account.

Er. No. That's very wrong regarding UA.

well actually, my suspicion was right, only full economy earn 100%, the earnings are:

First F A 150%
Business C J Z I P 125%
Full Economy Y M T U N L 100%

Discount Economy Q S 50%
No Mileage Credit R D K H V O W G B X E 0%

OP, you need to find out what class your flight mapped into on Jet from the United

It was a business class ticket
