Upgrade question

CO Plat , my normal Saturday ewr-sfo flight (348) has been cancelled so I need to change to an alternate flight.

United flys ewr-sfo with a 757 at 6:07pm on Saturday.

If I choose this flight, it is possible to get a free upgrade or use co miles to upgrade?

United also has a premium service 757 from jfk at 5:25pm, can I waitlist for an upgrade using co miles on that flight?

As an CO Plat you would be eligible for free Unlimited Domestic Upgrade (UDU) on EWR-SFO (but it would be better to status match to UA Premier Exec (1P) )

Yes you can use CO OP miles but at this time it is limited to Y/B fares ( using the *A Upgrade system)

no UDU on PS, again Y/B fares can be upgraded with CO miles

An unified upgrade system can come none too soon

Thanks...
I have an old Mileage Plus account that I haven't used in years...don't even know the number.
If I status match, do they credit the eqms to that account instead of my onepass acct?

Nevermind...I found the answer...

Miles can be freely moved between UA and CO accounts now so it is possible to confirm the upgrade with "CO" miles by instantly making them UA miles and confirming the seats.

Thanks.
I was wondering, the flights from JFK-SFO are premium service, but if you are in the back, which is all E+ the only benefit is the wifi, right?
I assume that the business and FC cabin get what used to be called "Meal @ mealtime", but the back is just "Money for Food".
Are there any other benefits for paying extra to fly this 757?

To me, yes, and I generally don't like paying that much for internet access so even that doesn't do much. But if you want the WiFi it is available on those flights.

C & F get meals; Y is BoB.

Not to me, unless you consider flying out of JFK a benefit.

If you want to upgrade, it's fairly easy as a 1K. Not sure if you've matched over and/or are 1P/1K. Even as a 1P, should be doable.

If upgrading, it's the best use of 15K miles you can imagine.

And the E+ seats (while no exit row, all have 34" of pitch) >>>>> CO Y seats in terms of comfort, so that's a plus.

JFK T7 is excellent, quick and easy, and is more pleasant to deal with compared to EWR

I think it only makes sense to take this flight if the upgrade is available.
They are much more expensive and since the whole rear cabin is E+ you could wind up way in the back. (no good).
I just status matched today, CO Plat is UA 1P, I believe.
This whole merger is like starting a new job!
Thanks for the answers.

IME the fares are competitive with flying to/from other NYC airports

an >=100K Plat matches to 1K, <100K Plat is 1P

Unless you are looking for some variety of food vendors to get a meal for the flight. The vendors in T7 are quite limited relative to EWR. Last time I passed through the Puck Express was on break and then had no supplies when they came off break 15 minutes later which made it even harder to get a decent meal.
