I got $1000 for an EWR-ARN flight back in September plus meal vouchers. They got me in via AMS on CO continuing to ARN on KL a few hours later.
We VDB'd for an IAH-MGA flight this weekend for $400+$18 in meal vouchers+hotel+Full Y (from our G class. they wanted to rebook us into the original class but got them to do full Y for the extra EQMs and higher upgrade priority). I think they could have offered more but they needed only one VDB but took my friend and I both for this rate rather than IDB someone who thanked us for "saving him". Since last Christmas, I think I'm at about $3400. Whee! Does CO rebook from Y to F/J/BF for VDBs? I've asked several times and they always refuse, even if they really need VDBs. |
Got $1000 once for a C2-C1 flight that I paid $400 for. As it turned out, after I received the VDB voucher, a Biz pax failed to show at the gate. So they let me keep the $1000 and put me on my original flight in Business.
Never been paid to upgrade to business class prior to that (or since) :D |
[QUOTE=tagflyer;16131183]Back in 2003 (if I remember right), I was flying MEM-AMS on KLM. It was the same time Bush was flying his troops to Iraq, and everyone had to go on European airlines. The 747 was overbooked, and they offered $750 + hotel + food to fly the next day instead. That was more than I had paid for my ticket, so I took the offer. The hotel was more like a motel, and the nearby restaurants were closed at 11 pm. I was able to use my $50 food voucher to order some Memphis BBQ-food delivered to my room. The food was good, but it was way too much! I used the $750 voucher for a trip to Argentina later that year. :)
QUOTE] I think I was on (rather, offloaded) from that same flight :p XXX-MEM-AMS on a $377 RT base fare (pre YQ crap) Showed up at the gate and said, "you probably don't need anymore volunteers...I arrived late from XXX - but wanted to check anyway" GA was VERY happy to see me. Without any questions, $750 ++ all else previous posted described. Rebooked next day in F to BOS, then Y to AMS. Oh those were the days my friend. |
