CO award with stopover and open jaw: YYZ, SGN & ICN

I am still rather new to this forum. Planning a CO award trip [in Y class] with my family (total 3 people) in July and early August of 2011. Below is my trip plan:

July 2011
IAH -> YYZ [stopover 3 days]
YYZ -> SGN [destination for 2 weeks]
SGN -> ICN [stopover 1 week]
ICN -> IAH [home airport by early August]

Would someone help to make my plan more logical? Someone told me CO only allows 1 stopover and 1 open jaw in its award trip. As a *A Gold member, I have been checking CO and *A airlines on the trip. Just need help to see any creative way to do 2 stopovers [YYZ and ICN] without spending too much. I do appreciate of any suggestions.

That definitely is not a valid routing in the CO system.

You can redeem UA points for a one-way award between ICN and SGN (and the CO points can be easily moved to UA for said redemption) but I have no idea how much those seats would cost.

You could also probably get IAH-YYZ on UA as the one-way awards for less (should be 12,500 miles each) and then book YYZ-SGN (destination) - ICN (stopover) - IAH (open jaw) for less. I'd approach it that way and see if it flies.

Thanks for the suggestions from sbm12. Here is what I understand of the two options you have:
A -
July 2011
IAH -> SGN [destination for 2 weeks]
SGN -> ICN [10K award miles] search no result via UA. BUT CO needs RT
ICN -> YYZ [stopover 3 days]
YYZ -> IAH [home airport by early August]

B -
IAH -> YYZ [15K award miles UA] available with connections via DEN
YYZ -> SGN [destination for 2 weeks]
SGN -> ICN [stopover 1 week]
ICN -> IAH [home airport by early August]

I will keep checking CO/UA with above 2 options. Just take time and could not use ANA site due to no ANA mileage. Thanks for suggestions.

Yeah, those are basically the suggestions I was going for. In A you can have YYZ either before or after you go to Asia. I suppose you could in B, too, if you did IAH-SGN-ICN-YYZ + YYZ-IAH.

You do not need miles in your ANA account to search. There are a couple workarounds available. http://boardingarea.com/blogs/thewan...earch-problem/

CO award with stopover and open jaw: YYZ, SGN & ICN

I found sample award trip details from co.com:
A
7/14 IAH -> YYC -> NRT -> SGN
7/25 SGN -> BKK -> ICN
8/1 ICN -> YVR -> YYZ
8/4 YYZ -> IAH

B
7/19 IAH -> SFO -> NRT -> SGN
7/25 SGN -> NRT -> ICN
8/6 ICN -> NRT -> YYZ
8/10 YYZ -> IAH

C
7/20 IAH -> EWR -> HKG -> SGN
7/25 SGN -> BKK -> ICN
8/6 ICN -> NRT -> YYZ
8/10 YYZ -> IAH

Above sample trips show outbound can connect YYC/SFO/EWR to SGN. What is the best route on the outbound?
The inbound connects YVR/NRT. Which one is better connection?
From SGN -> ICN, which connection is better, i.e., NRT or BKK?

Again, thanks ahead for the suggestions.
