737-800 Bulkhead Seating
I am booked on CO3 (LAX-HNL) and CO172 (HNL-LAX). I am seated in 7D both ways (UA 1P/* Gold), also because I broke my foot (It was not easy getting this seat, it involved a 20 minute call to CO). This row is designated as an extra legroom row, but I have seen mixed reviews about it on SeatGuru. From the seatmap on continental.com, it looks like F has 4 rows, and Y has 6 across seating in row 7 - so I've ruled out the 737-800 version 1 from Seat Guru. In Version 2, Y starts at row 7 and all these seats seem to be green (good seats!). However, in Version 3 (which I believe no longer exists according to CO), the first row of Y is yellow. Any insight on how I can tell if my row 7 will be good or not? I am hoping for something similar to row 6 on UA A319/320... Also, any other insight on sitting in row 7 will be greatly appreciated!
As an aside, I really hope UACO decides to keep Y+ and expand fleetwide, so I don't have to freak out over seating every time I fly!

It is good, I think it has a cut out, adding to the legroom.

the cut out doesn't offer much clearance if i'm recalling correctly, enough to stretch out your feet but not enough for much more than a laptop bag or other small bag. i think the A320s & A319s have better cutouts at Row 7.
here's a video review - you get some shots of the cutout.

Yes, if I'm not in first, row 7 is without a doubt my first choice!

i think i was still able to jam my work bag in front of me at 7F, but just barely. the UA airbus definitely have great cut outs.

Are there cutouts on row 1 bulkhead? Both sides? This is the version with 4x4 F seats, flying HNL-SFO.

i can't recall if the 738s have row 1 cutouts - seatguru seems to indicate no. i've been picking Row 2 or 3 recently when i get into the front cabin so i can still stretch my legs out. i think the 737-700s have the cut outs on AB side.

thanks Goalie, it's a 4-row F cabin according to the seat map and I already switched into row 3.

Finally got to try the 737-800 bulkhead row 7. It's as big as the Airbii...maybe 1-2 inches shorter. Plenty of room to put a stuff backpack underneath.
