Question Purchase confirmed; but pending internal processing?

OK so I booked a new flight today on continental.com, but after I hit purchase it cranked and cranked and cranked. The reservation page came up without a confirmation number, and contained the following messsage:

Thank you for choosing Continental Airlines. Your purchase is confirmed. You will be promptly notified once the internal processing of your reservation has been finalized so that you can request additional receipts, export to Outlook, refund or change your flight, view/change seats, check-in, or e-mail or print your itinerary.

This is the first time I have seen this happen. Any ideas? Sorry if this situation has been covered before.

You now also get an email of the pending purchase. This is new the last couple of weeks.

It should complete processing within a few hours at most. If the purchase does not show as confirmed within 6 or 8 hours I wuld call.
