No storage on floor row 1?

I've been seated in BF mid front cabin on a 777 several times between IAH-EWR and always had space in the console in front to store small carry on items.
Seatguru says there's no space for floor storage in row 1. If there's no console, where are the AVOD screens located & where would purses, etc. be placed?

Question Row 8

Looking at row 8 for the seat layout on co.com for the 777 , it appears that seats 8KL have twice as much space in front to the lavatory compared to 8AB.
Is this actually the case?

No, all of the bulkhead rows (2A/B, 1D/E/K/L, and all of Row 8) have the same oversized ottoman and storage underneath it.

What a timely thread.. I'm popping my CO BF cherry doing FRA-EWR in early March on a 777 with a friend and we booked 3D & E, but lots of seats open. Why row 1? I also thought maybe it would be too close to the lav.

Row 1EKL, or row 8ABDEKL are definitely the way to go. Exact choice depends on whether you prefer an aisle or window seat. The bulkheads have double-wide ottomans and plenty of floor storage for a briefcase or laptop bag.

2AB and 1D are very close to the lavatory and less desirable for a long haul.

Just noticed you are with a friend in which case 1K & 1L means

that you would only climb over (or under) each other & not

bother (or be bothered by) anyone else

Why 8E over 8D? I'm curious if there's some benefit I wasn't aware of (I have an upcoming trip in 8D, but could still switch to 8E).

My understanding is that the 8D ottoman was slightly better (based on previous discussions and pictures).
