How do I check in properly for this?

Flying from OGG-HNL on aloha airlines connecting at HNL to EWR on CO14.

When I check in at Maui, do I check in at Continental counter (to get elite tags etc..) or at aloha? /entire reservation was booked on continental.

Thanks!

I believe the general rule is to always check in with the operating carrier.

Yes. Remember, you won't get priority bag tags, and will be charged for luggage.

But technically they are both the operating carrier as I am on both of their metals for one flight.. And continental doesnt fly out of ogg during the week, so I am not sure now that I think about it if there area would even be manned.

So to clarify: Check in with the operating carrier of the first flight in your itinerary. You are on two flights.

Don't forget to take the Delorean service at OGG back in 2008 as well - it's the only way to get to the Aloha counters ;)

I assume you're flying Hawaiian Airlines OGG-HNL?

As with others, I am assuming you are flying on Hawaiian Airlines. I believe both Go! and Island Air also fly's OGG-HNL, but do not believe you'd have a through itinerary with them on this routing, though I'd assume things would work the same way should that be the case.

I did KOA-HNL on HA, HNL-EWR on CO in September.

While each was purchased on a separate Ticket, the check-in procedures should be the same.

You'd check-in with Hawaiian, who'd give you your OGG-HNL BP and your HNL-EWR, and check bags at the HA interisland rate of $10 for the first, $17 for the second.

I actually did my quick hop to HNL in the morning, spent the day in HNL, and was actually able to check a second bag with CO directly at no charge (they thought it was my first bag, which I'd get free with the CO MasterCard.

Hope this helps
