One Pass Business/First Award USA-BKK?
I am trying to book reward travel in Business or First with OnePass miles from DEN-BKK. On the CO Website, availability is not a problem, generally CO, UA, ANA, and/or Air Japan metal. What puzzles me is that when I select a Business/First reward, the domestic and US/NRT legs are in Business or First, but NRT-BKK always seem to show as Economy, rather than Business or First. Can anyone explain how to get around this problem? Thanks!

Given that the segment in question is on partner metal, going slEasyPass on it won't help. That only works on CO/CM metal.
CO's system will sell you a mixed itinerary if it is available under the presumption (one lobbied for here quite vocally, FWIW) that it is better to see a multi-segment itinerary as available when the long-haul is in the premium cabin and the short-haul is not. CO's implementation probably could have been quite a bit better, both in terms of identifying that the trip is actually mixed cabins and in differentiating between short/long, but it is what it is.
Just calling in won't solve the problem, though the agent can better search for options from NRT-BKK, possibly with a connection, on more carriers than CO.com offers up. The OP can also do the same themselves via ANA or the other skinned/commercial versions of that same data.
Or just post the travel dates and someone can offer routing suggestions. You'll likely still have to call to book, but calling armed with knowledge is much better than calling in and hoping for the best.

Thanks for your response...although I know a lot of people who have been frustrated by it, I've actually had really good luck booking EasyPass Business/First rewards over the years...

Just to check in with the results of my search...there were no satisfactory seats DEN-BKK online...but a call to the CO International Rewards Desk provided UA First class DEN-LAX-DEN, and Thai Airways Royal Silk nonstop LAX-BKK and return for 250,000 miles. Appreciate everyone's input on this.
Have only flown Thai once before 11 years ago between BKK & Kathmandu...one of my best flights ever, and Thai should be even better trans-Pacific.
