If you're flying Y anyways it might be worth looking at the cost of just buying the tickets. With the markets you're looking at I wouldn't expect them to be too pricey.

I'll price it out. We want to do a RTW at some point soon, and we love traveling abroad, so in the long run, saving the miles for the int'l trips is probably a much better value... thanks for the heads up!

That's a good move, not only in sense of using the miles wisely, but you don't want to spoil the bride to be this early in the game with domestic First..... it's a matter of managing expectations.

hahaha! Well she's a sweetie. When i told her I thought F wasn't worth it and we'd probably ride Y, she said she'd ride in a cargo plane if she had to, just to get there with me. Doesn't get much better than that, eh? :)
