Upgrading Reward Ticket (SWU/PPlus)
 

Hi all,

I'm flying SFO-EWR-AMS 12/21/10 returning BCN-EWR-SFO 1/2/11. I booked it as outbound EasyPass, return SaverPass. I was wondering if:

1. I can use my SWUs to upgrade?

2. I am a Presidential Plus card holder. The materials that came with the card said I can upgrade reward tickets in 2011. Will that be in effect Jan 1and if so, how do I invoke it?

1) No.

2) You're basically in the EUA queue as the lowest fare at your status level. I wouldn't hold your breath, particularly since the two eligible flights are EWR-SFO.

Thanks sbm12. Does #2 kick in automatically on Jan 1?

Dunno when it takes effect or what the mechanisms will be. CO/Chase pulled the details shortly after they were noted here and I haven't seen anything resembling an official launch of them since. I wouldn't count on it for the flight on the 2nd; that way you won't be disappointed if it doesn't work. ;)
