LAX-Costa Rica, with IAH Overnight Questions

Hi, any helpful insights will be appreciated.

I'm flying LAX to LIR over the holidays with an overnight stop at IAH.

Couple of quesitons, please.

--Bag Check: Based on my review on other previous posts, I presume I can check my bag all the way through or pick it up at IAH to have with me overnight?

--Overnight at IAH: Any particularly decent locations to hang out and grab a nap...or locations to stay away from? Any restaurants or snack carts open all night?

Any other helpful hints? Thank you.

I haven't spent a night in the IAH airport, so much of what you are asking I don't have first hand advice for.

I don't think you can sleep in the CO PC but a day pass would let you hand out in there until they close. (Check website for hours)

I think the best place to eat and hang out is in Terminal E.

There's a Marriott hotel outside of security, but you can get there via a underground people mover and walkway. You might check rates for the night you plan on being at IAH. I have stayed there many times.

I doubt you'll be allowed to leave your bag there overnight, but I could be wrong as I've never tried.

The Marriott is very convenient if you would prefer an actual room to sleep in, and there are several hotels on JFK Blvd as you exit the airport to the south that likely run shuttles.

As for sleeping in the airport... I dunno. IAH isn't a hub with planes coming and going at all hours. I suspect that Terminals C/E stay "open" through the night and wouldn't give you much hassle if you wanted to crash on some chairs or the floor. I wouldn't make the same bet for Term A or B.
