757 flatbed vs 777 flatbed
 

For ewr to lhr is there much difference? And, is it still hit or miss for 757 flat bed from ewr to other european cities? Thanks for any info.

The 777 seat is a tad wider and longer. I'd think it would only be noticeable if you were 6'2" or taller, or of particularly large girth.

One small difference,

On the 777 you have a center pair where both passengers have access to an aisle. on a 757 you will always be either in a window seat where someone sits between you and the aisle, or in an aisle seat where soene has to step over you to exit.

I take window anyway so I don't care, my wife prefers the center so she prefers a 777.

In either case, try for a bulkhead seat, as the floor storage and foot shelf is much wider ...

Is it easy to access the aisle from the window seat in the 752 bulkhead seats- or the same as for non-bulkhead where you need to pretty much clamber over your neighbours legs?

Your/your seatmate's legs go into the bulkhead, so it's a pain.

Is flatbed offered on all LHR flights? On LHR-EWR tomorrow in BusinessFirst. Wanted to ensure flat seat.

Also, is 2F a good seat?

LHR routes are the only flights CO currently "guarantees" flat-beds in BF (since June). I use the quotes as there have been a handful of flights where that has not occurred, but I know of none recently.

There are virtually no bad seats in any of the BF configurations, as the seats are comfortable with ample space to spread out, AVOD, and of course, the lie-flat capability. With that said, the bulkhead seats are popular for the extra storage space under the ottoman (and extra foot space on the ottoman itself). As was discussed above, the center seats on the 772s are also popular as you have the freedom to leave your seat at any time without disturbing another passenger.

i recently flew on a 752 on BF (from EWR-TPA funnily enough, checked the status and it was hopping from LHR-EWR-TPA which i found interesting).

got an EUA and was put on 2F. i liked it. the seats are nice, however they definitely were more narrow than i had expected. that barely even registers as a complaint in my eyes since i'm not particularly wide, but it's something that i definitely noticed. i think even the F seats on a 739 are wider.

the one thing that did bother me though is the footwell. i think it was partially because it was the window seat, but the footwell was really, really small. i wear 10.5's and when i tried to put both feet fully into the footwell, it didn't really fit and got uncomfortable. also when i went 180 and tried to lie down... i'm exactly 6'0" and my feet were cramped in the footwell and my head was only a couple inches from the back wall. sleeping with an arm near my head or anything like that wasn't going to fly with that.

don't get me wrong, it's still a comfortable seat and beats the heck out of coach. but as my first CO BF seat ever... well... i had grander dreams.

i'm flying my first 772 BF lie flat in a couple weeks though to asia, and i think the extra inch in width and, more importantly, the extra 2" in pitch might do the trick for me though.

I had my first experience in the new seats on a 752 recently coming back from CPH, having flown the 772 seats several times between IAH and LHR.

The difference in dimensions is slight, but noticeable if you're 6' or taller. At 6' 1", I sleep very comfortably in the 772 seat when flattened out, but had a bit of a squeeze on the 752. It wasn't enough to be uncomfortable, but I could tell the difference.

I don't mind the smaller footwell/ottoman holes in the non-bulkhead seats. I always take my boots off and wear a soled pair of slippers on long flights, and can usually fit them into the little cubby comfortably (size 12).

Thank you all for the good information. I didnt realize the flatbeds were "guarnateed" on the lhr flights. That really helps for my plans. The z fares between xmas and new years are really decent.
