Does CO status match silvers?

First, let me say that it's good to see Flyertalk is still around. I flew way too much in 2000 & 2001, and this forum was an invaluable resource.

I'll be earning Dividend Miles Silver on US Airways on Dec. 22 of this year. I foresee easily being able to earn 2nd tier on any carrier next year and probably will hit 3rd or 4th tier. The domestic Star Alliance carriers usually have the best flights for me (Continental, United, and US Airways).

Has anyone successfully gotten Continental to status match to Silver Elite? Should I be trying to go for United Premier instead? Or both?

Any input would be appreciated!

Welcome back!

Will they match? Yes. From another *A carrier? Probably not.

Doubtful that you'll be able to match from US, but you might be able to match to a non-*A carrier like AA or DL, then matching back CO.

I was thinking of that, but wouldn't I need to fly enough on Delta to look like a legitimate Silver Medallion first?

If I mail in my flight history to Continental, they're going to see me on a bunch of Continental flights with mileage accruing to US Airways.
