Plat card not working
 
I'm wondering if anyone else has trouble using their Platinum Elite card (or any Elite card) in the check-in machines at airports. I've taken to using a credit card to check in b/c my card hasn't worked since I received it last year.
I'm just requalifying as Plat for 2011 and am hoping I get a card that works when swiped. I've asked for a replacement but never received it.

I've tried using my President's Club card and THAT doesn't work either. Is this something new or am I just unlucky?

Sometimes those get de-magnetized, specially if you put them near cellphones. But having that happen with 2 cards sounds like bad luck to me. I haven't had a problem with mine.

FWIW, I just type in my OP#...i find it faster than swiping anything.

If you use it frequently, there might also be a bit of damage on the mag strip. That could be the reason that it is not working..

i've been scanning the barcode on the back of the card using the reader at the kiosks. that's been working for me.
