A few domestic full Y tickets were around $1300. At least one was on a 738.

Do former SkyTeam partners count?

Work booked me JFK-PVG-SIN, and no one bothered to tell me I needed a transit visa for PVG. Show up at the Air China (or China Air) counter and they weren't letting me check-in without the visa.

So I walked over to the AirFrance desk and bought a walk-up JFK-CDG-SIN fare in J.

About $9750 in 2007.

On CO, plenty of $1500 EWR-LAX/SFO flights, but that was back when you were guaranteed the instant Y-up.

A few years back I logged into my CO account as I changed a return flight in J. Saw a charge for around $21K. Almost had a heart attack.

Turned out it was HKD and the website was showing the wrong currency.. but still..

Most expensive ticket was about $9K paid for by work IAH-HKG. Those days are long over.

Kinda funny, but the most I've ever paid for a CO ticket was a B fare EWR-HKG-EWR for $1550.

Coincidentally, that was also the best value of any ticket I've ever purchased on CO as well.

I had to buy a last minute SFO-EWR rt in Y, 2 days before departure when a co-worker was hospitalized, and I needed to teach a class in his place. It was about $2300 in 2000 and I called my boss's boss to make sure I wouldn't be fired for buying what at that time was the most expensive airfare I'd ever charged for work.

I'm pretty sure I was upgraded both ways, and remember staying in the Marriott next to the WTC and teaching in a building across the street that had a great view of the twin towers.

Four Consultants to Rio - $36,000

Two tickets were just below $9,000 and two were just above $9,000.

International travel for the oil industry. They have to do something with the profits. Could have bought a car.

Domestically, $1,800 IAH-DCA several years ago.

Yeah, but it's a long drive to Rio from IAH...

I distinctly remember that. I was doing that route also and it was unbelievable. To get around that one we started doing CO EWR-MDW and NW MDW-MSP - in some cases brought the fare down into the $400 range.

I just buy cheapies

Paid a $4XX IAH-LHR-IAH and a $4XX IAH-HNL-IAH. Third place would be a IAH-DEN-IAH for $350. Was $210, but it was never ticketed because I used $15 from a travel cert that had been expired for 2 weeks. Doh!
