Upgrade Waitlist
 

I purchased 2 tickets in Economy (V) for EWR-LAX on 9/2 and returning 9/7 (mid-week flights over the labor day weekend). We have been waitlisted for the BF upgrade using miles and the co-pay. Does anyone know when the waitlist will clear? I understand that they want to try and sell the seats, but at what point do they call it day? Also, if we waitlist up to the day of department, do I have to do anything different or make any changes if it hits the 24-hour window and we can check in?

I booked with miles for upgrade and a few times have been upgraded as late as the day of.

Just make sure when it clears that they delete your existing reservation seats. I had gone to print my boarding pass at LAX a few times and even though I was upgraded to 1B I still had 21C active.

EWR-LAX is BF and requires both miles *and* co-pay? Shouldn't it be a miles only U/G.

There has been some issue with this in the past. IIRC< you end up in this void from when the waitlist expires at 24h and when you actually then check in at the airport.

If it was me I would make sure that you are listed on the UG list (should be above plats) after check in. Check the pda site.

Co-pay if non-elite on a lower fare. Otherwise there shouldn't be.

I wanted to thank everyone for they help with this, however, I'm confused as I have been on the waitlist since I purchased the tickets back on June 14th. I looked today, and our outbounded flight is showing 16 FC seats available. Since I'm using miles and a co-pay to upgrade, why hasn't my upgrade cleared yet? My flight is still 11 days out but I would have figured my upgrade would have cleared by now.
