Extending Layover?
Hi, I am planning on flying from EWR - JTR and I saw one of the flight options from Continental website is a pass thru CDG. Is it possible to extend my layover from a few hours to 2 days without having to make it a multi-city ticket?

Doubtful. The only way to force a longer connection is with a multi-city trip, and the higher price that usually incurs.

Build it as multi-city at CO.com or a third party and see what happens.
Generally speaking, if you have a connection and want to make it a stopover, it adds to the cost, since most lower fares don't allow for free stopovers. That said, I don't see any fares published on CO from EWR-JTR, so it's possible it's calculating it like you're paying for EWR-CDG + CDG-JTR separately anyway. If that's the case, it shouldn't matter if you spend more time in CDG, so long as the same availability is there on the flights you pick. |
Just out of curiosity could you build the ticket with the "standard" layover and SDC that leg 24 hours out at the T24 mark and then maybe even due it again at the next T24 mark? Providing there is available space.

But isn't the chance of a SDC at CDG pretty much NIL?
