I recently booked a flight to CAI, but when I tried to book IAH-CAI it showed no availability (on the IAH-LGA portion), even though on IAH-EWR, there was availability. LH flights do not appear at all.

Sometimes it is better to break into segments and check for availiability. But to complete the booking you can call continental.com support to avoid booking charges (it works sometimes).

Definitely break it up. On 12/30, I see LHR-IAD-LAS-PHX on VS connecting to UA, connecting to US. As an aside, kind of amusing how the carriers get progressively worse with each connection. ;)

Anyhow, you can always grab that and watch for something better to open up. Or just watch for UA IAD-PHX to open up, and you can tweak that. Though I'd try to keep the VS if you can. It's a fun J product if you haven't done it before, and the LHR clubhouse is excellent.

Good info Channa, thank you. I didn't know you could redeem one pass miles on Virgin (newbie to CO this year--DL defect). Did you get that routing on the return by pluggin in segs on CO.com or the ana site?

Thanks again.

CO.com. LHR-IAD and then IAD-LAS. That was availability as of yesterday, so things may have changed, so check again.

VS is a CO partner, not a Star partner, so it would not show up on ANA's site.

+1. Air Canada availability is often ephemerally available via CO website. The next day? NADA...

Wouldn't it be nice if it was consistently excellent at reflecting true partner availability? I mean, isn't it 100% cheaper to book online travel than depending on an employee digging through the Byzantine CO/*A system for 45 minutes?

I wish CA was off and on like AC. It disappeared one day never returned and now its impossible to book any flights out of ICN on the website.
