Friends don't let friends fly US

I would rather dive head first into a pool of double edged razor blades than spend one minute on a US plane. Horrible.

And what is "premium" about the other seats besides them being towards the front of the plane? Ditto on US - unless you can get one of the exit row seats - so not terribly compelling either way.

Howdy, hyperb:rolleyes:le, how's it going? ;)

It might not be a decadent experience but on the A321s the hard product isn't bad.

Flew in F recently on an A319 SJU-PHL, which was my first trip ever on a US mainline flight. The seat was fine, the attendants professional and the announcements from the flight deck informative ("turbulence ahead, folks..."). Then came "breakfast": a cold ham and cheese sandwich and a small bowl of fruit. And that was it. Oh, no IFE, either, on a 3+ hour flight........I'm just glad we did not have to pay for these seats as they were reward tix.

Why CO for sure? It's only 400 miles longer via CLT, and going through CLT minimizes the RJ segment, though a 600-mile RJ segment IAH-HSV is not too bad.

I would still give US the edge because the OP is less likely to score premium seating on CO since it's disallowed on CO per policy.

I should have been more clear. "CO for sure" only to avoid the transcon in Y on US. id rather do two medium hauls even one on an ERJ than a transcon and short haul. that's just me though.

im with you channa. i do love CO, but im perfectly fine with US. all the beef with US is simply idiotic. OH NO!!!!! no IFE for four hours? read a book for gods sake. it'll do your brain some good. :D

The way I read it was that you paid a premium to sit there, not that they were premium.

The OP is unlikely to score premium seating on US either, since they charge their own elites for all but a few seats in the front of the plane.

Neither US nor CO is any great shakes in Y. The seats on US are more comfortable, but the service is bare bones. At least CLT-HSV seems to be flown by PSA and not Mesa.

My 2 cents: with US' non-existent IFE and CO's industry-worst Y seat, I would try anything possible to stay on UA (ie, fly from SJC or OAK). UA's E+ blows them both out of the water.
