Non refundable ticket
I bought ticket tomy wife to india using my continental miles for may 27..due to pregnancy of wife .she cant travel ..what are the options for the ticket to sell it or to do with continental airlines
|
You can try your luck by calling Continental. If you have travel insurance perhaps they might cover a medical-need based issue.
Otherwise, you have to just pay the change fees and change it to a later date. |
If the ticket was issued in your wife's name you cannot sell it for use by someone else. You can cancel and redeposit the miles into your account, for a fee ranging from zero (for Platinum elites) to $75 (for non elites) if it was booked after December 15, 2009, higher fees if booked before that date.
If you get a letter from her doctor indicating that she is not to fly for health reasons you could try to get the redeposit done without a fee, but it's not a sure thing - you'd have to specifically request it and hope for the best. |

I think the OP has got a revenue ticket using $$$.
he has not indicated it was an award ticket. |

The OP says "bought...using CO miles". If that is the case, the award miles can be redeposited, with a fee depending on elite status.
I was misled by the title saying "non-refundable ticket". Yes, this is a much easier situation.....the award miles can be redeposited ..and the fee (or no fee) will depend on elite status. |
On another note. Did you just discover that your wife is pregnant? I would have thought it was obvious, say the last 3-4 months. ;)
