With CO name going away, does value of CO items increase?
Many folks here have collected a lot of stuff from CO... especially at the 'Do's, where everything from beverage carts to in-flight china have been given away. With a UA-CO marriage likely and repeated reports that the United name would survive on, what happens to the value of CO stuff? Does it only have value to fellow CO fans ...or does the value increase since there won't be any more CO-branded stuff being made?
With the NW/DL merger, did NW items become more/less valuable? Would the same happen with CO as the CO brand disappears? |
I hope this is not one of those "selling my free headset" threads. But, I have 2 highly prestigious baggage stickers you are welcome to have, but I'm keeping my blue carpet

The secondary market for the stuff is small enough that any appreciation in value is likely to be negligible in terms of real dollar figures. A tea set tripling in value from $0.25 to $0.75 doesn't make a whole lot of a difference. |
Certainly.

I have a half-closet full of stuff from Eastern including marketing items I designed myself - I've never noticed a strong market for these types of things.

My toy box is full of Pan Am stuff--amenity kits, menus, luggage tags, etc. I had a pax offer me $10 for my small blue Pan Am Biz Class amenity kit that I used on a recent UA flight to HNL. I turned her down, even though I probably have two dozen at home still in their original plastic wrap.

Yeah, I just bought some older glasswear for a pittance.

Guess my PC tea set that I got at the last Mega-Do just went up in value! :-:

Here we have a pair of vintage CO F seats. The bidding will start at 20M miles.

My wife and I spent an hour earlier today emptying out our walkin closet of old airline business class amenity packs, mostly CO. Their must have been close to 100! I kept the toothpaste, tictacks and those great brushes that turn inside out. Everthing else went to the trash.
