*A Upgrade on CO using OnePass Miles?
Say for instance, you've booked a B fare to HKG and all domestic segments are already upgraded at purchase. Is it possible to do a *A upgrade using OnePass miles for 25k on the BF segment as opposed to the 30k standard award upgrade?
I realize you lose the ability to waitlist and would have to wait for inventory to open up, but if this is allowed you could potentially save 5k miles. Anyone done this before? |
Where do you even see the CO *A miles upgrade chart? I'm looking around co.com and can't find it.
Neat CO let's you request the *A upgrade online. It's a 30 min process on the phone to UA. |

OnePass Frequent Flyer Use Miles Travel Rewards Interactive Travel Reward Chart Above the map will be the link to "Travel and Upgrade Reward Charts (Requires Adobe Acrobat)" As for the OPs, question, technically CO is a Participating Carrier in the Star Alliance Upgrade program, so theoretically it might be possible. However, on the other hand, the PDF award chart says "Upgrade rewards for flights operated by Continental, Continental Micronesia and Copa Airlines are included in the Continental / Copa Airlines Upgrade Reward Chart." And the staralliance.com page indicates "Check with the frequent flyer programme for upgrade options" for same-carrier upgrades. I suspect the answer is "NO" but it wouldn't hurt to call CO and ask. |
