but why you should expect all that perks ( the food , pillows yada yada yada ) and only pay 300 or less ?
You get what you pay

Why you should expect all "frills" ( pillows, food, etc, etc) And only paying 300 or much less on a transcon flight !

For those of us who travel on full Y tickets and pay thousands of dollars to go from here to there on an ERJ, you couldn't be more wrong if you tried.
It's quite aggravating that the carrier makes no allowance for fare class paid; I have a huge problem paying $6 for a cheeseburger when I paid $1200 for the ticket, especially since the bozo next to me who paid $189 for the flight pays the same $6.

That's an example of poor customer service, and I generally don't tolerate it.

The fare you pay has almost nothing to do with the service you receive on board, insofar as the basic services go. You paid $1200 for the flexibility and/or routing rules of your fare. You did not pay more for the service on board the aircraft. The other guy that pays the $189 fare bought it under different circumstances.

On board service is/should be determined by fare class, not cost. Just because you paid a lot more than someone else does not make you special. :-:
