Two companion upgrades

Strange question:
I am traveling with my wife and 2 yrs. old toddler to TLV and back (I'm a plat, they don't have any status).
On my connecting flight back, we have the rare opertunity and pleasure of lying a 777 from EWR to IAH (AKA Home).
It's a Sunday morning (7:55) and from my past experience it's a relativly empty flight. Now with 50 F seats (very unusual), and keeping in mind that we're traveling on B class (the three of us), are they likely to upgrade all three of us?

Thanks!

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry9630/4.7.1.40 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Not likely at all.

You'd be amazed how fast those domestic widebodies fill up in the premium cabins.

As an elite member on a B fare, you qualify for a (capacity controlled) automatic upgrade at the time of ticketing. At the airport you can put one companion onto the upgrade list. The third passenger does not qualify for a companion upgrade.

Thank you.
Since we are all B on the same itinerary, I guess they'll split us before we check in. Hypothetically speaking, if there's no other elites on that flight, is there a chance that since we're traveling on B, they will receive a complamentry upgrade as well? One of them?

You have to split the reservation yourself if you'd like to sit alone in F - otherwise the EUA will skip you.
The 'B' fare isn't going to help the third passenger. At least one person is going to sit in coach.

What if the 2 y.o. is not quite 2 and could be a lap child for that segment?

A while back in EWR I once did a companion upgrade in the PC -- then later noticed another friend on the same flight, so asked for another upgrade at the gate.

It was granted, though right before the door closed the agent came on to fix the mistake and send one person of my choosing to the back. Pretty empty flight both in first and coach, but with that as an example I'd say don't count on it even if there is space.

B gets a non-elite nothing. You can always buy one up to F if there is room, use miles, or try the lap-child shenanigans.
